Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) Seerah, and Character Part (1)

Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) was one of the noble Quraysh. During the Jahiliyyah era, ambassadors were special and related to your family. That is, when there was a fight with any other tribe of Quraysh, the elders of you (RA) were sent as ambassadors.

Whenever there was a need to express the pride of lineage, the elders of you (RA) used to come out for this task. Your genealogy, may God be pleased with you, is as follows: Umar bin Khattab bin Nafail bin Abdullah bin Rabah bin Abdullah bin Zarah Udi bin Ka’b bin Lui. Ka’b had two sons. One number, one number, two times. Murah Khattam is one of the ancestors of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). That is, in the eighth pashtu, Hazrat Umar Farooq’s lineage is traced back to Hazrat Muhammad; peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He was born 40 years before the Prophet’s migration.

An ideal personality

Hazrat Umar Farooq was the owner of an exemplary personality. You, may God be pleased with you, were very intelligent, Sahib al-Rai and Salim al-Taba. He was considered one of the most prominent people in Arabia due to his eloquence and forceful speech. He was deeply interested in poetry before Islam. Jahili used to reform poetry.

But after becoming a Muslim, his passion for poetry decreased. Art Spa Giri and Jawan Mardi were fond of it from childhood. His father was Mehr-ul-Nasab. That is why, may Allah be pleased with you, you also remembered the traditions of the Arab tribes.
After converting to Islam, he spent most of his life in the service of Khatam-ul-Nabieen Hazrat Muhammad. May God bless him and grant him peace.

You, may Allah be pleased with you, used to be very careful in the transmission of hadith so that the wrong hadith should not be attributed to Khatam-ul-Nabieen Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Khatam-ul-Nabieen attached great importance to the opinion and advice of Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Many rulings of the Sharia, such as the method of calling the call to prayer, the ruling on veiling for women, and the rulings on the prohibition of alcohol, were revealed according to the opinion of the Prophet.

Fear of Allah’s piety

Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) always had the fear of God in his heart. He used to say, “I wish I had a good heart; I wish my mother had not given me heaven so that I would not have to be held accountable on the Day of Judgment.” He was so afraid of the impeachment of the Hereafter that even though he had devoted his entire life to the path of God, He used to say, “By the One in Whose power is my soul, I only want so much that I be freed from impeachment.”

At night, he was often engaged in divine worship, fearing God and the punishment of hell, and often cried. His hiccups used to stop. Hazrat Umar Farooq was also a very high-ranking person in terms of piety and contentment. During the era of you, may Allah be pleased with you, the riches of Caesar and Kasri came into their hands, but they spent everything in the way of God. Even though he was the ruler of the time and the caliph of Muslims, he lived a life of extreme poverty and hunger.

Love of the Prophet (S.A.W)

Umar Farooq (RA) had immense love for Khatam-ul-Nabieen Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). You, may Allah be pleased with you, said that the lives, wealth, and children of Khatam-ul-Nabieen were sacrificed for Hazrat Muhammad. May God bless him and grant him peace. He used to spend all his daily routines in obedience to God’s Messenger. Most of their lives were spent under the protection of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Prophet’s love for you, may God bless him and grant him peace, was such a knowledge that whenever someone spoke to the last of the Prophets, Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, in an insolent manner, he, may God bless him and grant him peace, would take out his sword and kill the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

We request that, if permitted, I behead this person. The love of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in such a state that he did not believe that he had really departed. So he, may Allah be pleased with him, was shouting loudly, “Whoever said that the last of the prophets, Hazrat Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, has died, I will cut off his head from his body.” When Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq recited the Qur’anic verse and explained that Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had indeed passed away, he was overcome with great grief and fell to the ground.

Commanding personality

Hazrat Umar Farooq was always in support of the truth. You, may God be pleased with you, were a bare sword for the publication of the truth. This was the reason that there was a little harshness and speed in the mood and nature. You, may Allah be pleased with you, were the owners of a dignified personality. People were always in awe of you. Great kings and rulers of countries used to tremble at your name. Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) used to deal harshly with anyone who opposed Islam. He was not careful in the matter of religion. Those who were guilty of the insolence of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to avoid unnecessary and inappropriate harshness because the main reason for his strictness was truth-telling and truth-loving. After becoming the Caliph, there was a considerable change in temper and speed. But they used to avoid any kind of interference or expediency in religious matters or violation of Islamic style. This is the reason why it was possible to sit and control such a large kingdom in Madinah with this disposition of yours. All the people used to accept the fact that there was no possibility of any kind of chaos or corruption in the kingdom in the presence of Umar Farooq.

Mujahideen used to deliver letters to their homes.
One night during the patrolling, he heard the noise coming from the Bedouin’s tent and found out that the owner’s wife was suffering from labor pain. After returning home, BBM took Kulsoom to Bedu’s tent.  When the child was born, the wife called out. Amirul Momineen, to congratulate your partner. After hearing this, the Bedouin was alarmed. He comforted him by saying that in the morning I would arrange the stipend for your child.

Self Accountability

Hazrat Umar never allowed himself to become a victim of arrogance and pride. Whenever the idea of selfishness and arrogance arises in the heart, it is treated immediately.
1.One day, while carrying a bucket of water on his back, someone asked him, and he replied, “Because of doing a good deed, I had become selfish, so I am going to humiliate myself.”

2.One day he went up to the member for the sermon and said, “People! There was a time when I was so poor.
